Spokesperson Coaching and Image Consulting
Appearing on live television is a high-wire act that can be a challenge for even the most seasoned professional. Get it right and everyone will tell you that you looked great (even if they don’t remember what you said!). Get it wrong, and you may be watching it on YouTube for the next six months.
At the ACLU, Emily Whitfield helped prepare the Executive Director, Board President and other leading spokespersons for media appearances on every major news network, as well as for programs such as The Colbert Report, Lou Dobbs Tonight on CNN, Nightline, Hardball, Now with David Brancaccio and Bill Moyers on PBS.
Emily also led popular on-camera media training workshops for national and affiliate staff attorneys at ACLU staff conferences.
Not everyone is a born spokesperson. But with the right coaching, even the most camera-shy professional can learn how to:
- Answer tough questions
- Deal with a hostile interviewer
- Stay on message
- Convey confidence
- Look and feel relaxed
